Bold Earth Foundation

Aside from our work creating impactful technology to disrupt the status quo and transform how we power our lives, while healing the planet instead of hurting it, we made a pact to give back as much as we can to communities around the globe. Our team has an extensive history of doing good, well before we formed Bold Earth Scientific. We are all community builders, leaders, healers and helpers. We have a reputation of making right path choices with good intentions, deep passion, and doing the hard work necessary to gather people together to solve problems and build stronger communities.

Our foundation helps us keep doing that work.  It helps us fund more research and direct impact projects that shift communities and individuals lives in the scope of food insecurity and access, climate change, social justice, health, and wellness, clean water access, marine industry and ocean health, and anything that directly improves family, community, and human quality of life.

Brene Brown told a story once about women in a village who all washed clothes together down by the river. They became close friends and confidants. Things changed when they all got washing machines - with an unexpected outbreak of depression in the village. They weren’t gathering anymore. They weren’t laughing together. They weren’t solving problems together. The absence of community crushed them.

The same effect descended on our own community. We had no place to gather, be together. Solve problems, laugh, grieve together, or build a stronger community.

We are also seeing the same effect in surrounding communities and individuals who need more help than they often have access to. Help, finding peace, healing, wellness opportunities, or friendship can be so expensive, difficult, and discouraging.  This complex loop quickly makes those in need, in pain, or in fear lose hope.

Right down the road, John Muir once declared, "Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul alike,"

This is one of those places. A facility that serves as a bridge from desperation to hope.

Here, we can gather. Breathe. Explore. Play. Heal. Laugh. Cry. Listen. Speak. Bond. We can touch nature and be touched by it. We will deepen relationships with others, and most importantly with ourselves. We can be nourished with healthy food, healing hands, the soulful gaze of a horse, and the quiet splash of water lapping on a boat oar.

No traffic. No noise. No buildings hiding the horizon. Just mountains and trees, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets exploding in a wide open sky. Endless acres of peaceful beauty to explore... with a lot of fun adventure sprinkled in on site, and offsite.

Entwined within this project is the opportunity to power and fuel the complex with our environmentally friendly technology.

Let's all "wash clothes" down by the river again, and celebrate being together! Because together, we all rise.

Nurture in Nature

Since Nurture in Nature’s inception in 2013, we have dared to dream big. We dreamt of creating an inclusive camp-style experience for children with disabilities and their care givers. We envisaged sharing meals together that was both delicious and nutritious, for body and soul alike. Meals that included all dietary needs. We challenged the status quo of traditional camps by allowing parents of children living with disabilities to attend along side them. We passionately believe that parents are an integral component in ensuring lasting results of our program for years to come! We visualized a program that offered adaptive, outdoor adventure alongside holistic, nature inspired ways of healing. We felt compelled to include art, music, sound healing, aromatherapy, grounding exercises in tandem to traditional camp-style fun. And, we wanted to reach all of those goals without asking families for a single dime! We were bold enough to pursue those colossal dreams and we succeeded. We lovingly hosted five successful years of camp, that proved to be life changing for many of our campers.

Bearing witness to the miracles that unfolded in front of us, spawned a deep curiosity about the consistent results we were seeing year after year in our campers and their families. As we observed and asked questions, we soon found ourselves engaging in conversations that would help us understand the scientific, medical reasons why our program works. It was around this time that the Covid-19 pandemic rocked our world and halted our near future plans for upcoming camps.

Each member of our board continued to hold space for future collaborations and retreats. The pandemic gifted us precious time to pause and re-imagine how we move forward and expand our offerings to the many people who seek refuge in nature's embrace. Nurture In Nature, The Resonate People Project and Bold Earth Scientific birthed a deeply meaningful collaboration that continues today.

These conversations led the Nurture In Nature executive board to the Bold Earth science lab, where our theories and observations could be further examined and objectively tested. When the rest of the world seemed to stop, our small group of dreamers felt encouraged to keep asking questions, and find ways to illustrate our human connectedness. Through these scientific validations, Nurture In Nature felt emboldened to offer our wellness services to first responders and hospital staff.

Since 2020, we have hosted numerous wellness days, spent in nature. We create an intentional adventure that harnesses nature’s healing potential through play, dance, gratitude and simple stillness with the natural world. The results have been profound at reducing stress, increasing resilience and inspiring hope for future wellness practices.

Bold Earth Scientific has been an integral part of Nurture In Nature’s expansion and we remain deeply honored to continue our partnership, by fostering a living example of earthly stewardship, connectedness and heart centered collaboration.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Paradigm clinic in San Rafael runs a 5 week live-in program for teens suffering from conditions such as depression,
addiction, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Over the last 12-months sound healing has been offered once a week using
quartz crystal singing bowls. It has become clear through observations and documented feedback from the teens (250
verbal reports), how powerful sound can be as a treatment for these conditions. KQED radio interviewed one of the Paradigm  clients in February 2017. She says the best medicine for her anxiety is the centers sound healing class, “The sound is so deep and really calms me and makes me tired.”

The aggregated feedback from the teens suggests that the sound healing sessions greatly help with the following: reduced anxiety, induces restful sleep during and after the session, clear blocks to allow access to suppressed trauma, creates peaceful emotions, sometimes elicit euphoria and often allow vivid insights and deeper understanding of themselves. It can also help with pain management, most notably headaches.

Traditionally teens are treated with talk therapy and medication which has its value, but is not always effective at getting to the root of the issue. Pharmaceutical companies have a vested interest in the amount of medication prescribed to teens. To use an analogy, medication is like a safety net for someone jumping off a building. It will break their fall but will not address why they were on the roof in the first place.

Sound healing is a powerful complimentary medicine which works through the following well documented processes: relaxation through meditation, binaural beats, unblocking of energy through vibration, changing brainwaves, induced sleep, lowering blood pressure and heart rate, entrainment, stimulation of the vagus nerve, accessing blocked trauma.

PROJECT VISION

There is a light in all of us that often dims as we grow. The conditioning and constructs of society can lead to destructive behaviors. What if we could catch this early? The Resonant People Project is committed to researching the effects of sound and vibration to bring greater awareness and acceptance in our communities. Through published research we hope to encourage funding to create a community of sound practitioners who can offer free sound therapy programs for communities in need. The intention is to create formalized rituals around sound healing in every classroom, hospital, youth facility and in our homes. Sound healing has been used by ancient cultures for thousands of years. It’s time to remind everyone of its healing potential. MISSION Phase 1: Employ a researcher to publish a paper with the qualitative feedback from the teens at Paradigm. Phase 2: Quantitative research - monitoring brain and heart activity during the sound bath sessions to understand what is actually happening. Through the use of high-tech monitoring equipment, Emotiv for EEG and HeartMath for VHR, we intend to see what is happening to the teens during the sound healing and to be able to correlate this research to the quantitative research in Phase 1. The hope is that with these research papers, sound healing will become more widely accepted and funding can easily be raised to support free programs for teens and other populations in need. WAYS TO GET INVOLVED Funding for research, monitoring equipment and hiring sound practitioners, volunteers, expertise, website and social media, salons, fundraisers, raising awareness, collaboration.
